“ I am that I am “

.

.

I am that I am that I wish I was that which I am not,

the child’s face mirroring adult’s needs so sublime,

once glimpsed, like a mother’s approval, ever again sought.

Whatever our birthrights suggest in life by our Society defined

internalizing basic truths as old as Truth and new as day;

ideals as real as the beat of our heart, yet intangible,

a need to have our world listen to what we have to say;

a greater role locked within each one needs must be fulfill.

.

Few lives are so deprived they’re unrewarded by another’s smile.

It’s human nature I suppose to crave what we conceive….

to want what is noble no matter how our world’s defiled….

and as we are made in the likeness of the Master above,

locked within us is the essence of purity and trust at birth.

Goodness will find and shape our course in keeping with His love.

For we are shaped by the Master in His own grand design.
