“ Christmas and New Years “

.

.

After ten months, my provisions for a prayerful, fruitful journey are nearly complete,

I’ve marshaled my forces, gathered my thoughts, and striven to deposit my best.

In truth, the uneven journey’s been challenging, harsh at times, at others replete ~

with all the heavenly gifts and insights I will require to complete my Quest. ~

As I rest and watch, I feel the snow gather on the still, sunless wind in advance,

the ease of summer gone, the trials approaching to test my preparedness,

like Cinderella, it has been easy to lose myself in the joys of the dance,

but once the clock strikes Midnight I must be ready to speak in my defense

of the choices I made, the acts I left undone, the tears released,

the hopes shared or denied ~ reaching for the Hand reaching for mine!

The souls comforted, the faults overlooked, the amount of selfishness decreased

For the help up the hill to be willing to accept which all of us must climb ~

to find our place, chosen by the inward provisions which seemed important

as we began our journey- May yours be as sweet and dear!
