“ Forever Free “

.

Just having traversed a vale of tears while it seemed I was walking backwards

I can finally lift my head from Jesus’ shoulder as He’s carried me

A love so profound it transcends expectations, emotions, or even words!

To know that so soon this will be illusion and I’m forever free!

Sometimes-it’s difficult just to draw in a breath, you know what I mean?

Yet in the transparency of my helpless state I find everything I really need.

But other times I wake to find my soul refreshed and all else but a dream,

He is so much more than my forefather’s words, so much more than just a creed.

I am in awe that I’m privileged to glimpse the Soul that gave all things form

That the Master of the universe took the time aside from mighty creation to speak

The wing span of a butterfly, the sound of a bee, even the rose that graces the thorn

Allowing us to be born blind, needy, and helpless to teach us the gifts to seek.

Where once I was trapped by youth, I was allowed to grow old gracefully and age

Where once I was trapped by ignorance I was offered tender communication of thought

Where once I was trapped by circumstances I was freed like a tiger from its cage!

Where once I was trapped now I am free, blood paid for, by His agony I am bought

And loosed in Heaven which holds no walls or further terrors for me, or thee!
