1 God must have been smiling as he created felines, for He knew He would give Eve to Adam and they to
Cat!
2 White as the snow outside as silent as snowflakes fall Shiloh effortlessly drifts across
time and window ledge.
3 Winter brings its own calm occasional noise wakes me to witness
Shiloh my cat indulging careless shadows.
4 Once guardian of monks now companion to
the old Smiles are an easy commodity shared Birman and me
5 The love flows unbroken Equality shared by Cat. In his benevolence I am safe to risk and grow.
6 My Cat does
not judge me but doesn't laugh at my jokes. All things being equal, I'm still ahead; my treasure He.
7 First thing in the morning I wake touching the warmth of my cat able to stroke him until he awakes, the day begun.
8 January's chill breath blows between the window's seal moving the blinds
to my cat's stone delight- seductively.
9 Flannel for my bed sheets, a comforter for the warmth, yet I only nestle in the bed when Cat curls near.
10 To watch his eyes light up, to
hear his unfeigned delight, makes having to leave him alone at home almost worth it.
11 It
often makes me smile though I pretend not to see people shake their heads at my commitment to a 'mere' Cat.
12. The silence of the month comfortable between us as I sip coffee and write on my books, Shiloh sleeps near
13. "His" chair is next to mine, slender majesty reclined, watching as beneficently as royalty on mere two legs.
14. Sleek form and watching face inspiring
mysteries, a starting place for imagination, secrets he keeps.
15. The cold last forever cocoa has lost its allure, but with Monsieur Le Chat to intervene hours fly past.
| 16. Him,
short haired and nimble, Me, cranky and slow as old tar yet melted together in one pot we still flow with one heart beat.
17. They say I am "strange", "co-dependent" on my cat but I'd rather be joined to joyousness then dwell alone.
18. Time a flowing river taking
us along its path, tracing those events we'll remember long- as they occur.
19. I rise with
a soft groan moving from here to there instinctively looking to see if Cat remains asleep?
20. When I was a young girl, I carried my world with me, I ran where I would and followed the breeze, in cat pursuit.
21. We reach a point in life where we can smile as we rise, finally
learning Cat's rule-of-Thumb It's up to us!
22. I borrow my Cat's credo- If I wait long enough
here, Life will cycle its way back before my eyes without my help!
23. "Shiloh"
means peacefulness and seems to apply to Cat effortless making his wishes known in subtle mime.
24. The days stretched out too long hidden under late month snows, seemingly immobile under the wait slow minutes past.
25. Eternity is near taking the shape of a Cat, passing between
the climatic events we share in sync.
26. Content to dwell with me despite our disparate size, We're following a path both mat help shape moving through Time.
27. The minutes seem to
creep held in abeyance by yawns Monsieur Le Chat 's movements do not break it with bright pink yawns
28. January doldrums about to be hastened on by February's stillness and more snow longing
for spring.
29. I watch the people shop the smiles gone like the presents we shoulder
together against the cold this too will pass.
30. For those who will believe warmth is not
an illusion the stark branches as backdrop for my cat will bloom again
31 People say I spoil
Cat 'Heaven forbid!' I say 'cause he ain't spoiled-I'm just well trained- thus we both win.
