1.

“Time is fleeting” … They say

‘fleeing’ I would add to that

the weight of  history is chasing it

struggling free.

.

2.

Time is like a comet

while moving eternity

Though it may be eternal in its place

  here it just streaks.

.

3.

Time binds my horizon

giving it definition,

encapsulating my uniqueness as

I ponder its.

.

4.

Can I ask a question?

"Where do unused minutes go?"

"Resting from their labours, do they compare notes?"

"Do they keep track? "

.

5.

I can remember when

there was a time in my life

when an hour took a day to pass by

near a child

.

6.

Even as it is unfolding

a measured weight inherent

Time remains neutral toward recipients

well or in folly.

.

7.

The aura of Christmas

Is already beginning

People are starting to watch passing smiles

Exchanging them.

.

8.

Pastels dominate spring

Dark colors come with winter

But the weight of coats and scarves doesn’t seem

To weigh down smiled.

.

9.

People grow their hair long

As soon as it has value

keeping Old Man Winter’s chill breath at bay

if only for now.

.

10.

Cold blushes cheeks ruby

ears didapper into muffs

noses challenge Rudolph’s right to glow bright

~ while smiles stay warm.

.

11

I try hard not to stare

But the colors attract me,

I find myself fascinated by caps

Providing warmth.

.

12

‘Tis the Season’ they say

as if we needed excuses

to step back and allow strangers to pass

across our path!

.

13.

Child in a down coat

all but down to her ankles

plays, unmindful of the smiles she causes

on strangers` lips

.

14.

apples, yams, chicken broth

pass in monotonous array

an unbroken succession at the counter

await The Day.

.

15

Another Holiday,

another generation,

old rituals will new memories make,

always cherished.

.

16

Our eyes speak volumes

where we look – or chose not too

as strangers wait in close proximity

without speaking.

.

17.

Momentarily joined

we share an intimacy

as fragile as a bubble made of soap

likewise cleansing

.

18

Did you ever notice

how patiently some will wait

until such time they can resume the flow

of their own lives?

.

19.

Shoes change with the weather

Sandals give way to boots,

bare toes giving up their freedom exchanged

for more comfort.

.

20.
The warmth of the season
seems to express itself best
in the warmth we show to one another
the best we give!
.
21
I watch as Shiloh sleeps
playing with the ornament
hanging in clusters from his Christmas Tree
and all is well!
.
22.
Channuka Lights glisten
 cold closes the windows in...
while baking turkey fills the apartment
with jeweled memories!
.
23
The end of the old year
is just around the corner
where Christmas lights twinkle in the trees
while Silence reigns.
.
24
It's hard to let it go
I've learned so much from this year
But time and tide wait for no man they say,
Memories cling!
